Staff Financial Accountant

The Role

We are seeking a Full-Time Staff Accountant / Financial Accountant to join our accounting team in Memphis. This role reports to the Controller and works closely with the Accounting Manager to support daily accounting operations, reconciliations, and month-end close activities across multiple entities.

This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accountant looking to gain hands-on experience in a structured, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
• Complete weekly bank reconciliations
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules
• Assist with sales tax filings and commission calculations
• Help research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support ad hoc accounting and reporting tasks

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• One of the following
• 1–3 years of accounting experience in a structured environment, or
• Strong academic performance in accounting coursework (3.0+ GPA preferred for recent graduates)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and follow established processes
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Accounting software experience a plus (Dynamics GP preferred)
• Restaurant or hospitality experience a plus
